PlayReadVIP, previously called Video Interaction Project (VIP), is an individualized parenting intervention program that takes place at pediatric checkups during the critical early childhood period between birth and five years of age. As a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician working with thousands of families and children at NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue, I developed this program to support all families and prevent parenting challenges before they emerge. The use of video recording and immediate feedback from a parenting coach during every PlayReadVIP session is what sets the program apart. The program builds on parents’ strengths and supports them in reaching their individual goals. My NIH-funded studies have shown large impacts for parents and children, including increases in positive parent-child interactions and decreases in parenting stress.
Over the past several years, this program has expanded to many locations across multiple states, reaching thousands of children each year. The PlayReadVIP National Center at NYU Grossman School of Medicine providing centralized training, technical assistance, and program development for all sites.
Your support will allow PlayReadVIP to continue to grow and expand, giving more and more families the opportunity to benefit from this incredible program. By giving a one time or recurring donation, you will help bring the power of play and the magic of reading to kids across the country. Please support us today!
