We (Andrew and Emily Grider, Will's parents) wanted to create a fundraising page to support the SUDCRRC research study at NYU Langone Health. They have been a tremendous help to our family as we have navigated losing Will. They've been so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful every step of the way. They have investigated and researched SUDC cases for many years and have studied Will's genes along with ours, to really get an understanding for what could be potentially causing these Sudden Unexplained Deaths in Children. We feel it is important to start a fundraiser in benefit of the research study, because we think that this research is really the only way to identify a common thread between all of these families, so that we can potentially understand a way to prevent this from happening to other families. Will was a healthy 14.5 month old loved little brother. He was born on March 9th, 2023 and died on May 28th, 2024. Like many other SUDC families, Will passed in his sleep, with no warning signs of illness or prior health history. We and his big siblings (and many others) miss him so much. We are confident that he is with Jesus and are thankful for how Jesus has held our family through this grief.
