Dr. Flanagan is known not only for his clinical excellence, but for the way he sees the whole person – listening to patients’ stories, supporting their families, and honoring their individual journeys. Under his leadership, Rusk Rehabilitation has grown into one of the nation’s top five rehabilitation departments and home to one of the country’s leading funded research programs. A nationally recognized expert in brain injury rehabilitation and past Chair of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he has had a lasting impact on the field.
