I’d like to invite you to contribute to our mitzvah project for Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at NYU Langone Health. There are so many reasons to get involved with this community. This cause in particular is special to Sebastian and me. Recovery is a difficult but rewarding experience, and I can speak to this as I have first-hand knowledge. As most of you know I found that I had a tumor mid-year in 2023.

In May of 2023, I had many MRIs and check-ups and was in the doctor's office sometimes for hours with other children in the waiting room. As the doctors and nurses do their best to get us in and out of the waiting room, sometimes a wait does occur. The staff of doctors and nurses have so much to do, but we hope we can make the waiting room and recovery somewhat more comfortable. The power of recovery and making some children feel more comfortable would mean the world to both of us.

As our b'nei mitzvah approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I can do to help others who may face similar challenges. After thankfully recovering from my tumor, we would like to set up a page to help children have some items to help them pass the time or make their time in the hospital a bit more manageable. We hope that friends and family generously donate money to the fund, and help the hospital and the children. This will mean a lot to my brother and I and we will continue to support children and make their lives a bit easier in these trying times.
