On January 22, 2024 we lost Lauren Elizabeth Ribaudo, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and busineswoman to glioblastoma (GBM), after a courageous seven-month battle.
GBM is one of the most complex, deadly, and treatment-resistant cancers. More than 13,000 Americans are diagnosed with GBM every year. The five-year survival rate for GBM patients is only 6.8%, and the median length of survival is only 8 months. Survival rates and mortality statistics for GBM have been virtually unchanged for decades.
To honor Lauren's legacy, and to change the future for patients and families facing GBM, our family is partnering with NYU Brain & Spine Tumor Center to catalyze the development of new treatments for glioblastoma (GBM) that will extent the lives of patients with this insidious cancer. To implement this approach, we are eager to launch a specialized infrastucture within the Brain and Spine Tumor Center that will facilitate the development of new therapies through a systematic pipeline of laboratory and clinical studies.
Our family joins in support of a donor who has made clear their intention of making a $1 million gift to support this project, which requires another $1 million in support to launch. Please join us as we unite in a fight against glioblastoma.
